My sewing began in March of 2019 in Coolidge, Arizona. An experienced quilting friend, with a long arm machine, invited us to come over for a craft day.
My first project was a wall hanging. I really enjoyed the cutting and assembling of the material. I worked in the sheet metal business for 45 years where I drew up fittings, cut them out and assembled them so I felt right at home sewing.
I sewed a few schlep bags to learn the techniques in sewing and in December of 2019 I bought my first sewing machine. I built a sewing table and continued doing schlep bags and pin cushions. In July of 2020 I started making my first quilt - an applique quilt for my daughter. Since that time, I haven’t stopped and at this point have made 30 plus quilts.
